Lecture Evening At Semley - Hannes Emrich (May 4, 2006)

The final lecture of the evening was given by Timothy Howson & Joanne Bolton (pictured bottom left). Their lecture centered on the working priorities to produce excellence in Ballroom. Timothy started to explain the components he likes to focus on: Postural clarity and understanding of the man’s and lady’s specific posture to produce the correct picture and balance. He mentioned that both man and lady need to stay in their individual balance at all times.

Timothy then explained one of his main priorities which is matching the centres of gravity within any couple. He then explained the types of energy they employ to get maximum swing and ensuingly the creation of shape and sway. Timothy also mentioned his conviction of staying true to his desire to become the best expert artist possible. Timothy managed to hold everybody spellbound with little intermissions of a demonstration of each principle in the various Ballroom dances.

The audience rewarded Timothy & Joanne with cheers and applause as they danced their Foxtrot, and they would not let them go until they had actually danced all four dances. What a fantastic end to this evening indeed!

5 "Follow Me Around" The International at The Royal Albert Hall - Jack Reavely (January 19, 2006)

"The complacency of neck and head positions and a smile of real significance is easy to see in Joanne Bolton and is very satisfying to the production of floor appeal. The tune “Time on My Hands” was playing as the couples danced in front of our eyes and ears Foxtrots galore on that lovely floor Now you can take “Time” with your feet too and Timmy Howson and Jo Bolton show how this is done quite beautifully by protecting the fundamentals of ankle and foot use and the seamless transition from a slow step to the following quick."
