David Trueman:
Midlands Open Championships "They produce such dance precision in all
departments. Timothy has improved in posture production maintaining his chosen
style continuously. As with all leading Ballroom specialists their togetherness
is never forsaken. Contact is not easy to maintain but must be achieved and this
they do with skill and knowledge."

Paul Beeton: "So
elegant and stylish showing their superb classical flair. They perform now with
a stronger positive personality which adds enormously for the viewer.
Individual interpretation of each dance throughout."

Robin Short:: "to
tantalise the audience even more, Timothy Howson & Joanne Bolton were engaged to
demonstrate. 100% professional and choreographed as a "show" with accomplished
lifts, the audience rewarded them with a standing ovation. They were at their
best on this evening."

"Howson -
Bolton (England),
classical approach which is always so very appealing
as they protected the correct usage of feet and ankles, coupled to fine
understanding of the correct motion, including a wise interpretation of rise and
fall, and controlled sways. Joanne has adopted a new stance and it adds glamour
and projection as it has been developed to increase the distance between their
heads and it works."

"The
Waltz showed English Style at its best with elegant timing from Howson.
"The Waltz was very
interesting to watch, right at the start of this dance was the comparison of
Timothy and Christopher’s half natural turn. They danced this next to each
other and although both showed excellence of swing, sway, footwork, etc, it was
Timothy who came out of it later. Draw your own conclusions on that one…"
"Timothy and Joanne are
superb Foxtrotters and I find it difficult to see how this brilliant couple can
dance it any better to get better marks! Timothy
and Joanne have developed a real gutsy Tango and they really meant business
tonight. Their progressive link in their opening sequence was breathtaking- I
thought Joanne’s neck would snap!! Quickstep
saw Timothy and Joanne in Promenade running and skipping along the side of the
floor, slid about twenty feet to a stop to do some intricate business on the
spot. Excellent."

Harry Smith-Hampshire
reporting on UK Professional Standard: Timothy
Howson & Joanne Bolton: "Timothy, ever since a juvenile, has always aimed
at the classic in style. Timothy & Joanne have a series, dedicated approach
to dancing. You might quite rightly describe them as purists, who place a high
value on the traditions of correct technique, clarity on line and high-quality
smoothness of movement. They are most comfortable in dealing with the respective
dance characterisations of Waltz, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz, (in which latter
dance they can produce a repetitive series of fast tuning and technically
correct Fleckerls second to none). They have a bright traveling Quickstep.
Perhaps the dance in need of an injection of the flair that comes naturally to
the Italians is Tango."
